About Catechism Classes

These are instructional classes for children and teenagers explaining to them what the Bible teaches and how to live the Christian life.
10 – 11 year old children start by going through the Bible in 2 years. This gives them an understanding of the historical nature and overall story of the Bible – which is the story of Jesus Christ.

• The Old Testament – looking towards Christ
• The New Testament – what Christ did, and how His church is being built

Then in 2 year segments, the children are taken though the following material:

• Westminster Shorter Catechism or Heidelberg Catechism
• Church History
• Belgic Confession of Faith
